Pinatubo the star attraction at Newmarket

All eyes will be on Pinatubo when Godolphin kid bids to cement his place as Europes champion two-year-old with victory number six at Newmarket on Saturday.
Even the Shamardal colt has just been getting better and has taken all before him his five races and better.
While his win in the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom on Oaks day declared down him as really promising, Pinatubo has developed into one of the best two-year-olds in recent memory, even together with impressive performances to choose the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot, Goodwoods Vintage Stakes and the National Stakes at the Curragh.
That latest triumph, by nine spans, will not be forgotten in a rush. The handicapper was impressed and gave a score of 128 – 2lb higher than Frankel as a juvenile and the highest because Celtic Swing in 1994.
As coach Charlie Appleby explained however, at Moulton Paddocks at Newmarket, where hes stabled, hes not hard to overlook.
At home he has been a joy to be about, said Appleby.
Hes one of those horses you wouldnt notice from the string and that is most likely why he has been doing what hes been doing, as he chooses zero out of himself in the home.
Happily he turns up with his A-game on raceday.
Pinatubo beat Favorable five lengths in Goodwood – but his coach Clive Cox believes his colt will get after his victory in the Solario Stakes at Sandown.
He said:Positive has done very well since he won the Solario. He impressed us very much when coming up on his prior run from Pinatubo and had a suitable race that afternoon.
Like everyone else I have been really taken with Pinatubo, there is no disputing his quality, but I am optimistic that Positive could demonstrate the essential improvement to close the difference for him.
Weve experienced a summer time, so my view may be based more on theory than fact, but I would like to believe that Favorable would be at home on the kind of easier ground hes very likely to strike on Saturday.
The Dewhurst is a standard race which points forward to next years Classic contenders and, although I love it is a popular competition again this season, I am very pleased that I have a colt good enough to be in the line-up.
My two previous runners have both been placed (Kodi Bear was next in 2014 and Xtension third in 2009) and Favorable is a wonderful horse whos still on an upward curve
Aidan OBrien fields four of the nine runners seeking a Dewhurst triumph.
His group includes while Monarch Of Egypt bids to bounce back after a disappointing run in the Middle Park Stakes acquired by Godolphins Earthlight, Coventry Stakes winner Arizona, who had been third to Pinatubo at the National Stakes.
Ryan Moores bracket Wichita has been a winner of the Tattersalls Stakes over distance and the course which led to him being filmed.
Year Of The Tiger completes the the Ballydoyle party.
The Charlie Hills-trained Royal Commando and Mark Johnstons Iffraaz make the two runners up.
