Rohan Dennis defended his entire world time trial title by winning gold at the Road World Championships at Yorkshire.
The Australian, 29, completed the route from Northallerton to Harrogate within 1 hour five to five seconds.
This was 1min 9secs quicker than the 19-year-old European winner of Belgium Remco Evenepoel, although Italy’s Filippo Ganna took bronze.
Alex Dowsett ended fifth – his very best result at a world time trial – to earn a second place to Great Britain.
An additional Tokyo 2020 place was secured by A top-10 finish .
