A supporter has been excluded by brighton indefinitely for a social media post.
The Twitter post – which has since been deleted – included comments over the possession of Man City and was created from the accounts of one of Brighton’s fan-run websites.
Having been made aware of the message and receiving several complaints into the bar, Brighton are known to have contacted the band on the day of the match, Saturday to have the post.
Brighton have taken stern action.
A team statement on Friday afternoon read:”Brighton & Hove Albion have resisted a buff indefinitely following a social media article made in the wake of the weekend’s game at Manchester City.
“The exception follows several complaints from fans that found the post to be discriminatory.
“The club’s stance on all types of discrimination is apparent, it is summarized in our club charter, and that we just won’t tolerate any kind of discrimination – in person, via social media or any other kind.
“We have reported this event to Sussex Police, as have others, and for that reason the club will make no additional comment at this point.”
