The Primetime Emmy Awards, occurring every September, are a party of quality television programming across the world. The service, closely followed by TV fanatics, provides a platform upon which celebrities are recognised for their work in the previous year. Awards ceremony betting is as popular as ever, and the 2018 variant of the Emmys, hosted by Colin Jost and Michael Che of Saturday Night Live, will be a hot topic at top online specials bookmakers.
It is not easy to discern how this year’s winners will collapse. Unlike the Oscars, that honours film, the Emmys often has repeat winners on account of the cyclical, season-based nature of TV shows. Some shows that were formerly Emmy staples such as Modern Family happen to be swept aside to allow for a new class to input, but there are some old favourites, like Game of Thrones, re-entering the market.
It has often been stated that the simplest way to win an Emmy would be to have an Emmy, but will that opinion ring true in 2018?
Let’s take a peek at the Emmys gambling odds for every single significant class, given by Betway.
Outstanding Comedy Series:
Atlanta – 4/7
The Marvelous Mrs Maisel – 5/4
Barry – 14/1
GLOW – 33/1
Black-ish – 33/1
Curb Your Enthusiasm – 33/1
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt – 33/1
Silicon Valley – 50/1
Our Hint: It is Tough to see Atlanta not carrying home the Emmy for Best Comedy. Season 2 of Donald Glover’s hit series was excellent, along with other TV comedies at 2018 paled in comparison. The exception of Veep and Modern Family this season will surely help Atlanta’s chances and although short, the 4/7 listed at Betway for Atlanta to take home the bacon could prove profitable at higher stakes.
