Marcus Trescothick delivers batting batting masterclass for Sky Cricket

10,236 works were thrashed by marcus Trescothick over the 3 formats for England – and demonstrated just how he did it.
The 41-year-old, who powered 14 hundreds from South Africa at The Oval in his 76 Tests with a best of 219, explained how playing the ball was key to his victory in international cricket. Trescothick declared he will retire in the conclusion of the 2019 year from professional cricket on Thursday.
“I was somebody who had been competitive, I wanted to score runs,” he explained. “I didn’t wish to bat daily to get a hundred, I wished to bat daily to receive 170. I had been watch ball, hit ball and tried to strike it and beneath my eyes.
“I never went to far at the ball with foot motion and normally when you are not getting the contact you need, it is because you’re hitting the ball too premature ”
Trescothick, who clubbed 12 ODI hundreds talked the keys to playing with spin, and trigger moves, keeping your mind while batting.
“I could constantly sweep, which was my go-to shot, but like I played against better spinners in international cricket I had to create and be in a position to control the ball. As the pressure builds, you do not wish to get stuck in one end.
“You can get on one knee and shred small tap sweeps. Moreover, if you come on the surface of the ball, you can almost splat it on the ground to spend the bounce and also the twist from it.”
